Studies Barcelona was founded by Marcos Baeza Gil, a teacher, student, traveller and network builder based in Barcelona. Marcos completed a bachelor’s in education at Ramon Llull University (URL) in 2003 and worked in public and private education with children and adults until 2022. He later earned a master’s degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of Barcelona (UB) in 2020 and completed courses at Barcelona Activa and entrepreneurship studies at URL in 2023-2024.
Since May 2024, after attending the ICEF Madrid Conference, Marcos has built partnerships with more than a dozen educational institutions and key service providers in areas such as banking, insurance, accommodation and recognition of degrees. These partnerships are the foundation of Studies Barcelona’s support ecosystem for international students. Our legal support in Barcelona is led by trusted immigration lawyers who help students in Barcelona with visas, foreign identity cards, work authorizations, residence permits and other legal procedures needed to live and study in Barcelona and maybe settling in. Marcos’ passion for travel has taken him three times to Australia, most recently in 2019, where he studied English and foundation programmes. In Adelaide, he met many students from Korea, Japan, China and India and learned directly from immigration professionals, which inspired him to create Studies Barcelona. Seeking both personal and spiritual growth, he travelled to Mumbai and New Delhi in May 2025, where he discovered a fascinating culture and a strong motivation to build bridges between India and Barcelona. Since then, Studies Barcelona has been actively developing partnerships in India.

We are bold in opening new frontiers, promoting Barcelona as a welcoming city for international students and building a growing network since May 2024. Our projects now include strong links with India from May 2025 and the plan to expand our startup team with a new member in the first semester of 2027.

We are passionate about helping and motivating students from different backgrounds, starting with the Asia‑Pacific region, starting with India from 2025–2026 onwards. Our team is ready to support students whenever they need it and to assist them with any academic or practical matters during their time in Barcelona.
